The EMMETT Technique

Sometimes the body just needs the gentlest of invitations to let go. No pushing, no forcing — just a light touch in the right place, reminding your muscles how they should be working.

What is it?

A conversation between your body and your nervous system.

The EMMETT Technique is a gentle muscle release therapy developed by Australian therapist Ross Emmett. Using light finger pressure on specific points of the body — called EMMETT points — it triggers a subconscious response in the soft tissues, allowing muscles to release, movement to return, and the body to settle back into ease.

These points are unique to the EMMETT Technique — not traditional trigger points or acupressure points. They work with the body’s own intelligence rather than against it. No pain. No force. Just an opening.

In the simplest terms? It’s reminding your muscles how they should be working.

Neck & shoulder relief

Tension that’s been living in your neck and shoulders for years can soften — sometimes in a single session.

Lower back ease

Restricted movement, tightness, and discomfort in the lower back respond beautifully to this light-touch approach.

Headaches & sinus

Clients often find relief from chronic headaches, migraines, and sinus congestion after EMMETT sessions.

Deep relaxation

A sense of lightness and calm — sometimes described as the body finally exhaling — is one of the most common responses.

Better sleep & mood

When the body releases held tension, sleep often improves and emotional balance tends to follow.

Joint & muscle freedom

Restrictions in movement — hips, knees, shoulders, ankles — often ease in ways that surprise people.

The Chameleon Approach

Adaptable to every body.

One of the things I love most about the EMMETT Technique is that it meets people exactly where they are. Every session is tailored — adjusting pressure, direction, and timing based on how your body responds in that moment. It works on babies, the elderly, athletes, and everyone in between.

Better together.

In my sessions, I often weave the EMMETT Technique alongside Spinal Flow — and the combination is something special. Spinal Flow works with the nervous system through the spine; EMMETT works with the muscles and soft tissues. Together, they create the conditions for deeper, more lasting release.

Spinal Flow opens the door. EMMETT helps the body walk through it.
